In recent weeks, I have been watching the Hindi reality show BIGG BOSS, which is the Indian adaptation of the Dutch-British series Big Brother. While viewing the program, I found myself pondering why people are drawn to Bigg Boss. What is it about the conflicts among celebrities that captivates audiences? What is it that appeals to me about the show?
The premise that makes this show engaging is that contestants, referred to as "housemates," reside together in a specially designed house that is cut off from the outside world. Each week, the housemates nominate one another, while the audience votes to save their favorite participants. The contestant with the fewest votes is eliminated. This process continues until a winner is determined by the audience. The victor is awarded the Bigg Boss trophy along with a cash prize. Contestants are expected to participate in household chores and are assigned tasks by an ever-present authority figure known as Bigg Boss. These tasks often relate to becoming the captain of the house for a week or securing a luxury budget that includes premium food items. The captain enjoys immunity and special privileges, such as the ability to assign duties to other contestants or penalize those who fail to fulfill their responsibilities. Additionally, the captain gains access to amenities like the BB mall and spa. Every Saturday and Sunday, Salman Khan, the host of the Hindi version of Bigg Boss, appears to discuss the conflicts and issues raised by the contestants throughout the week, as well as to announce the name of the evicted contestant.
So the main points that why people love to see Bigg Boss:
- The
host possesses a captivating personality, leading the show with vibrant
energy and providing complete entertainment.
- The
inclusion of well-known celebrities from various platforms, such as
YouTube, TikTok, and popular actors, actresses, comedians, dancers, and
singers, as contestants significantly contributes to the show's success.
Since TRP determines a show's popularity, I firmly believe that featuring
celebrities as contestants effectively attracts viewers to Bigg Boss.
- Viewers
resonate with the emotions and perspectives of the contestants. Bigg Boss
enjoys immense popularity among the masses as it presents individuals from
diverse backgrounds, showcasing unique personalities and esteemed
celebrities living together in a confined space. The show effectively
illustrates human psychology and how individuals respond to different
situations.
- The
conflicts and arguments among contestants are particularly engaging, as
they reveal their true natures.
Additionally, the intriguing tasks and games highlight their authentic personalities and competitive spirit.
